My wishlist for rail budget 2014.
I will demand only one new rail line from Patiala to Karnal/Panipat via Kaithal.
We the citizen of Kaithal & surrounding area wish to draw your kind attention to the following facts with regards to the subject cited above.
1. Kaithal Karnal Panipat & Patiala are prominent towns of Northern Region of

the country in terms of industry & business. It is the middle line of agriculture belt of Haryana & Punjab, which is called the bowl of Rice & wheat in the Union of INDIA & International Map.
2. These towns fall in a straight line so for as the road link in concerned covering a vast rural area & also measure a lesser distance from Patiala to Karnal only 130 km & Panipat only 150 km.
3. At present the Rail link between these towns is either via Ambala or Kurukshetra which is comparatively a long distance.
4. If Patiala connected to Karnal via Kaithal it will benefit the people of the area in many ways, It will be a facility to the people of the area & will earn a good revenue to the Railway. At present the people depends only on Road Traffic.
5. It will shorten the distance to Delhi from Patiala & Kaithal by Rail.
6. It will boost the business & rural economy of the area.
7. It will make the travelling easier and more convenient for the general public.
8. It will reduce the heavy load on road traffic.
9. It will also bring other Grain/business markets like Nissing, Pundri, Cheeka & Rajound, Matlauda, safidow, Assandh on Railway map & Kaithal on main line.
10. The laying of the said track will also go a long way in reducing the rush of Passenger Trains/ Goods Train on Ludhiana- Sirhind-Ambala-Delhi route. As the traffic can be diverted via Ludhiana-Patiala- Kaithal-Karnal-Delhi route.
11. Presently Kaithal is on the branch line & is linked to Delhi by Rail only through Kurukshetra & Narwana with a single passenger train, but no direct fast Train is available on these routes. Which is of no use to the public of area & as such there is heavy rush/load on road traffic between Patiala-Kaithal-karnal-delhi.
12. Laying down of the said Railway Track will help reducing the cost of Transportation & lesser the Financial burden on the national exchequer.
13. It is a long standing demand of the people of Kaithal & the surrounding areas, Which has been neglected ever since the Independence of India.
14. The people of the area are facing great inconvenience in the absence of said track.

Very less chance. Having different party govt. in Center and Haryana , a Dry Budget for Haryana mostly is expected. Haryana can hope Punjab will get some trains that passes by Haryana! however bad Last govt. did but on Railway Haryana (specialy ROK) was able to get some new trains in last 5 years

U r right if this line is constructed it will reduce the passenger and goods traffic from Ludhiana-Patiala-Ambala-Kurukshetra-Karnal-Delhi. The trains can go from Ludhiana-Kaithal-Karnal-Delhi. It will shorten the difference between Patiala and Delhi.

railway has yet to utilize existing lines in NR like
Panipat-Safidon-JIND
Delhi-Shamli-SRE Line
Rewari-Jhajjar-Rohtak line even after 2 year
Kaithal-Karnal line is not going beyond surveys untill Haryana Govt. Bear 50% cost like all
...

3 projects going on in Haryana as per new lines are concerned. Existing Govt. has no interest in this part of Haryana at all. All 3 Railway lines funded by state govt. fall in Parliament Consituency of Rohtak and South Haryana (Jind-Sonipat,ROK-Hansi,Delhi-Mewat)
