reason for fast work of efication on this section is speeding up speed of goods train by hauling them thru elocos and currently due to diesel engine the speed is low and will take more time to reach destination and SECR is taking interest to complete the work of efication soon due to transporting coal thru goods to power plant near GNS

Good news came after meeting of MP of JBP Rakesh singh with SECR GM n other officls end yesterday in circuit house in JBP as now GNS-NIR section will be open for traffic from 25 Nov 2017 and currently running passenger b/w JBP-GNS will be extended to NIR and many ongoing projects deadlines is also decided in this...

GNS-NIR BG opening- 25 Nov 2017
Samnapur-BTC BG work completion- Dec 2018
BTC-Samnapur BG completion- Jan 2018
so most probably if the work will complete according to target then we can hope BG trains to BTC/G by Jan/ Feb 2019 and by this time efication work will also come to an end till btc/G so hopefully if both the projects complete on time then elocos can ply on this route from 2019
GM of SECR also told MP that electrification work will also be done on JBP-BTC-G section so that in future traction change can be avoided and speed up of trains can be attained and GM also said that work of efication work already started from JBP and work will complete as follows-
JBP(KEQ)-GNS efication work completion- March 2018
GNS-NIR efication work completion - June 2018
NIR-BTC efication work completion- Jan 2019
so most probably if the work pace will be good and will complete in the given target time then we can hope elocos on JBP-NIR-BTC-G route by feb/mar 2019 after successful CRS
