Lalmati Express most of the days gets short terminated. It happened with me on 3 occasions. Either at SRC or at KGP. Better to avoid Lalmati. Try Rupasi Bangla which departs from Santragachi but when coming back it arrives at Howrah. (12883/4*SRC-PRR-HWH*)
Even Saptarshi Confirmed me with the short termination of the train. Thanks to him as well.
No need to worry if you don't gett reservation in 2S..THE entire train run vaccant from PRR TO HWH..general compartments are indeed better than the 2S..

Rush is only from Purulia to Tata. Kolkata rush is mostly handled by Rupashi Bangla departing just after an hour later.
Awesome train if you travel to Tatanagar or Purulia in the morning without much crowd.. Runs on time too as it remains just behind Howrah Mumbai/Pune Duronto..
However return train often gets delayed between KGP HWH especially if Dhauli Superfast takes the lead from KGP..
