Practical - Will be Popular among Daily Passengers
This imaginary train is concerning the strong need of AMRAVATI-PUNE SUPERFAST WEEKLY OR BIWEEKLY EXPRESS via BHUSAVAL, MANMAD, DAUND. It should be noticed that 11405/6 Pune-Amravati-Pune... more...
Biweekly Express via Akola, Purna, Latur, Kurduvadi is running on this route. However, the travel time of 17-19 hrs is too high for this train. Contrary, other trains running between Badnera-Pune takes average 13 hrs. However, it is very difficult to get reservations on these trains as there is less quota in Howrah/Hatia/Bilaspur/Nagpur-bound trains for intermediate or remote location stations like Badnera. Amravati is the second largest city in Vidarbha after Nagpur and many people from this region are situated in Pune/Mumbai for education and jobs. The train services in Amravati also facilitates the passengers of nearby districts like Yavatmal. Travelling by road on this route is a much costly and unsafe affair especially on Sundays and holidays seasons. There is no doubt that a SF train covering this distance in average 13 hrs will be a super-hit among passengers and a heavy revenue generator for railways. The model of 12111/12112 Mumbai-Amravati-Mumbai can be used for this purpose. This train is running fully packed and popular from its introduction in September 2008. However, 11405/6 Pune-Amravati-Pune is only being used mostly by passengers travelling to intermediate stations. Thus, there is a strong need of a train between Amravati and Pune covering the distance in average 13 hrs. The train needs to be run on Fridays from Pune and Sundays from Amravati. In my opinion, if railways can adjust schedules for tatkal specials and premium specials and reach those trains to their destinations in stipulated time, this would not be a big management issue for railways.
