Why people are so emotional boarding the train. I mean there are regular services between Bangladesh and india as well?
This is a special train exclusively for muslim pilgrims. They have some rituals with this train (most of which I'm not aware of), you will find videos of old women praying & even kissing the locomotive of this train, making their infants bow at the locomotive to seek blessings & they believe this train carries their prayers to their holy site at Medinipur, India.
Thousands of Bangladesh nationals apply for lottery but only about 2000 people get tickets from lottery... it's about luck.

I'm afraid, thats not a good news, atleast to me. If everything happens according to the notice, it will be common, just like any other special train of IR having Blue ICF coaches (i suppose IR will not provide LHB rake for it) & some electric loco. BR rake has its own uniqueness, afterall u don't regularly get to see a Bangladesh rake travelling in SER territory. Moreover, the Bangladesh Loco will run upto Darshana, so again, the uniqueness of this yearly special is lost.

For the convenience of the Pilgrims, one pair of Special Train will run between Rajbari(Bangladesh)-Midnapur-Rajbari(Bangladesh).
Pilgrim Special leaving Rajbari (Bangladesh) at 23.00 hrs on 15.02.2020 will reach Midnapur at 04.30 hrs on 17.02.2020. In the return direction, the Pilgrim Special Train leaving Midnapur at 21.30 hrs on 18.02.2020 will arrive Rajbari (Bangladesh) at 15.00 hrs, the next day.
