Raichur-Gadwal New Railway Line Commissioned by Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Hon’ble Minister for Railways. New DEMU Passenger Trains Flagged off:
Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Hon’ble Minister for Railways, commissioned the 58 Km. long Raichur-Gadwal new railway line today i.e. 12th October, 2013 at a glittering function held at Raichur Railway Station. He also flagged off the inaugural run of new DEMU passenger train services Viz., No.77690/94 Raichur-Gadwal/Kacheguda DEMU after commissioning the new line.

Addressing, the gathering, Shri Mallikarjun Kharge said that the commissioning of the New Raichur-Gadwal Railway Line heralds a historic moment for the people of this region as it opens up a convenient cross border rail link strengthening the people to people contacts across both sides. The Railway Minister also detailed the emphasis on various railway projects in Karnataka on SCR including the new Railway Line between Bidar-Gulbarga, Munirabad-Mahabubnagar etc. He expressed his resolve to accelerate rail developmental works in the region.
Earlier, Shri A.K.Mittal, General Manager, South Central Railway in his welcome address stated that the New Railway Line will serve as a short link between two main lines of Wadi-Raichur-Guntakal and Kacheguda-Gadwal-Dhone. The line can potentially serve the needs of freight traffic in this region, he opined. The General Manager also highlighted the various passenger amenity works completed at Raichur.
New DEMU Passenger Train Received at Gadwal Railway Station
Later, at a function held at Gadwal Railway Station, The inaugural Train No.77690/94 Raichur-Gadwal/Kacheguda DEMU, was formally received on its arrival at Gadwal today by Smt. D. K. Aruna, Hon'ble Minister for I&PR, Cinematography, AP Film, TV and Theatre Development Corporation, Govt. of AP and Dr. Manda Jagannath, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Nagarkurnool and other dignitaries.
