The LP(seen in the pic) was very friendly and shared some info about how to become an LP, Engines and its performances.. He said it requires around 250ltr to do a round trip to Nanjangud from Mysore.. He also said that they frequently use sand to increase the traction (especially during wet conditions).

beeplusplus 19 blog postsI guess this should be extended to Chamarajanagar, to have better Mysore connectivity, who is suffering by having just a single direct train to Bangalore.
Sir.. few dedicated trains are intentionally made to run b/n Nanjangud and Mysore to bring in the peak hour crowd. As you can see one pass. arrives at MYS at 09:00 and this one arrives at 10 AM. This train will be full of daily wage workers and office goers.
