UTTARANDHRARAILSEVA~ 1843 blog postsThis SF train with LHB coaches covers the distance of 247 km between CAPE and MDU IN 5 hours. What is the use of LHB coaches which are made to run @ 160 kmph? Can anyone explain the reason for reducing speed of the train in spite of Electrification and doubling ?
CAPE-MDU's MPS is 100kmph not even 130. That too some sections even has lesser MPS due to PSR. Most of the section is single line except VPT-MDU. This section has good passenger traffic and some stations dont even have loop lines. So slack has been given. Doubling is happening. It will take some time for speed up.

Vanchimaniyachi to Kadambur double line is operational and from Kadambur to Kovilpatti sleeper and rails replacement works are going on in old line. Traffic between Kadambur and Kovilpatti is operated only in new line. Old line in this section is closed for traffic. Newly renovated vanchimaniyachi and kadambur station for your views.
