Strange...Train no. is 08601 i.e. of SER RNC Division, Train runned by SECR, Train Terminating at Kolkata stn i.e. of ER.....
Some rake getting transferred from SECR to ER....lets see is it ICF rake or Lhb rake

Skips Shoranur and Kozhikkode, while the other big skipper of Kerala, 19423 Humsafar stops at both these stations and skips Kannur instead. Interesting!

Is this rake transfer for any new train service from Mangalore?
It is might be rake transfer so that's why skipped main stations enroute
Seems like indeed a rake transfer. Such a huge slack everywhere. SA to CBE is epic. :P
There are some terminal stations which doesn't have coach maintenance facility; so rakes of trains operating from these stations have to be compulsorily moved to nearby coaching depots for upkeep & maintenance. 08601 represents such an 'empty rake' movement.
You'll find similar movements between CAPE & NCJ as well; Most of the trains operating from/to CAPE like Himasagar/Gurudev/Kanyakumari Express are maintained by CD/NCJ.
