I have heard Langar is provided in this train only at Manmad and Khandwa stations. Is it true ?
And do the sevaks provide langar facility to ALL the passengers of Sachkhand or only to the selected ones who have booked it ?
I guess it is provided at NDLS also...and any passenger of Sachkhand can take it
Sometimes at Dabra, Bhopal also. During gurupurab and other sikh festivals.
Dabra me b daily langar aata h
Langar is for all public whether you travel in General or Sleeper ! If you're travelling from Hazur Sahib, they will pack for you from there only. Further, At Khandwa, Dabra, New Delhi Guru ka langar is available !
Alight here for Omkareshawar and Mamaleshwar Jyotirling. Direct meter gauge trains are available from Khandwa to Sanawad / Omkareshwar Road (Mortakka in local language) from where you will get Buses/Sharing Auto to Omkareshwar. As on 12-1-18 when I got to know that track is closed because of Gauge conversation.
Bus will drop you at Omkareshwar bus stand and you have to take auto from there. Also you can hire auto direct from Station to the main town.
This is very detailed. Thanks. How much time did it take on the meter gauge. Was it as per TT or did the train get late? How much did the share auto cost? (just to get the idea of distance)
It is approx 1 - 1:15 hrs journey. Train will late only if it starts late from KNW or source. During journey it will only halt and run scenario. We choose the bus at that time and as I can remember fare is 15 Rupees to omkareshwar bus stand and 10 Rs from Bus stand to Town.
Currently this route is closed because of MG to BG conversion.
I thought Khandwa to Sanawad MG is still in existence. When did it close?
I was also unaware about this conversion, I just checked it today after writing this blog. As checked and found no train between KNW and OM. While searching for reason I found this /blog/post/1991178
I am confused. The linked blog is 2016. If it had closed then how did you travel?
I had my journey 2.5 years ago.
