From outside, sign board, entrance, all looked good, inside no Porter, no escalator, not much shops in platforms, though many trains originate from here

Retiring Rooms for Ladies and Gents one each ? शयनगृह means retiring room ?
In fact Indian Language is lacking certain words which are originated only in West.
"Retiring" means 'निवृति" : now whether you retire from job, or from day work... has to have specified defined words.... Retired from services means "सेवा निवृत"
now if retiring room is applied hindi meaning it
...
becomes "निवृतालय" and not शयनगृह"
गृह means home... and not Room
How funny Is Rigid Translation as done Officially by Official Languages Dept of India :)

It is definately funny, but officials have to consider using a word which would convey the proper meaning of the facility being provided. In this case, शयनगृह was more appropriate word to use as Retiring rooms are meant for taking rest/sleeping.
Washrooms are sometimes referred to as Restrooms in English, that does not mean one has to literally take a rest there :P

One of the worst station in terms of cleanliness. No maintenance of any kind at all. The AC waiting room's AC was not working. Toilet was stinking. Litter on the platform. The security is also very less as I found that taxi/rickshaw drivers come on the platform and start asking where you want to go and literally harass you. There was hardly anything available in Jan Aahaar.
