The largest and the main Bus stand for Bhubaneswar is located at Baramunda, and in common language called Baramunda Bus stand. It is located nearly 10kms away from the Railway Station. Another small bus stand is at Master Canteen (Bhubaneswar Railway station Pf 1 side).
If you are alighting at Bhubaneswar station, and wish to go to Puri, then go to the Bus stand towards Pf 1 on the railway station, and you can get Govt AC Low floor "Mo Bus", but they are non-frequent. Instead, you can come outside from Platform 6 side, and walk to the Cuttack-Puri Road which is roughly 200m away from the station, From there every 15 min at day time and every 20min in the evening
...
time you can get buses to Nimapara, Kakatpur, Puri and Konark. But the last bus passes at about 9:45 pm-10 pm.
If you wish to go towards North Odisha (Jajpur-Bhadrak-Balasore-Baripada), Western and Central Odisha (Sambalpur-Rourkela-Keonjhar-Barbil-Jharsuguda-Balangir-Dhenkanal-Anugul-Talcher), then reach the Vani Vihar square which is nearly 4kms away from the railway station. You can easily get shared autos from the station. From Vanivihar square, regular Balasore/Baripada AC buses can be caught every 20min gap starting morning 5 am till night at 10:30 pm. The same case is also for Western and Central Odisha but the last buses to all routes are at about 10:30-11 pm only. After that, you won't get any buses. Also do keep in mind that, from 6 pm to 8:30 pm in the evening, No buses run for Balasore/Baripada. But always keep an open eye that many times I have seen due to Festive seasons or any other occasions, Police blocks the Vani Vihar square, thus the buses instead of coming below to the square, go via the above Flyover and halts on the highway where the service roads meet the Highway which is roughly a 200m walk from the Vani Vihar junction.
If you wish to go to Southern Odisha (Berhampur-Visakhapatnam-Ganjam-Koraput), then you will have to reach the Baramunda bus stand to catch your bus. Ample amount of Govt and Private buses run between state capital Bhubaneswar and Silk city Berhampur.

During Durga Puja, its a serious headache travelling via bus in Bhubaneswar. Better opt for train or else directly board the bus all the way from Baramunda stand. Peace of mind.

Don't ever dream of traveling between Nayapalli and Rasulgarh during Durga puja. If you want to go cuttack side better opt via patia side which is even very crowded place but takes less time than that place during Durga puja time

Mo Bus tip and Ola/Uber Tip:
Generally, the Bhubaneswar railway station in the common tongue called "Master canteen". So, next time If an auto wala says you "Master Canteen", then don't get confused.
The main Master Canteen bus stand is just beside the Railway station. I have attached the screenshot to reach there. It's just a 50m walk from the Railway station premises. In the attached screenshot, the star mark is the Bus stand and I have marked the route with a black marker. If you are coming to Bhubaneswar and you

have a smartphone, then kindly install the "mo bus" app which will really help you in finding and boarding your correct number bus.
At Bhubaneswar station, the Pickup and drop point for Ola/Uber cabs is a different location due to Auto wala politics. The Drop point is near to the Station entry Gate marked in the Black triangle in the attached screenshot, whereas the Ola/Uber Pick up point is at around 100m away from the station near the Tanishq Showroom which is marked in red triangle.

It's just Like Paharganj and Ajmeri Gate names are for New Delhi Railway station. Similarly, the Master canteen area is the Platform 1 exit side and Cuttack-Puri road area is the Platform 6 side. Earlier only the Platform 1 side was developed but recently to reduce traffic on the Master Canteen side, EcoR has totally revamped and developed Platform 6 side also.
And the Master Canteen Square (Chhak) is the big circle you can see in the image near the Nehru park and Jay Prakash Narayan Park.
Master Canteen is not

a canteen/restaurant. It's just a big Traffic circle.
The distance between the black and red square is nearly 100-150m only.

I didn't know about this Canteen near railway station, but I really very well know famous the Canteen restaurant situated at CRP square. My most favourite place in Bhubaneswar to do my lunch and dinner. Cheap, homemade quality and fully AC restaurant.

Following is the Auto transportation ideas in Bhubaneswar:
If you are going towards Lewis road/sishupalgarh/lingipur/Kalpana chhak/Laxmi Sagar/Bomikhal/Rasulgarh:
Come outside from Platform 6, turn right away from the High India tri-color flag and exit the station. You will have to walk nearly 200m here and you will reach the Cuttack-Puri State Highway. If you have normal luggage like 1-2 bags, then you can easily come down to this road and save a huge amount of money.
From
...
here left side of the road you will get numerous sharing Autos towards Laxmisagar, Bomikhal, Esplanade Mall, and till Rasulgarh. The fare was Rs 10 per person. Whereas if you book an auto, then it may cost nearly Rs 150-Rs 200. Till last year, the fare of sharing Auto on this Cuttack Puri road was standard Rs. 10 only. Whatever distance you wish to go, the minimum fare and maximum fare is Rs 10 only.
And for going towards Kalpana Chhak, Lewis Road, Sishupalgarh, Lingipur, you have to cross the road and take autos from the opposite side.
Just be careful while crossing this every busy road as no traffic police are seen here at this big junction. Forgoing to Lewis Road, Sishupalgarh, Lingipur side, you have to change over Auto from Kalpana Chhak.
I have thus attached a screenshot. The walking path is been marked with black line and the point from where you will get share autos is marked as Red Arrow.

This train is an overnight intercity express of ECoR. It has a huge demand both by intermediate and end to end passengers. This train is most preferred by people, especially from the western part of Odisha, who take this train for both Raipur and Bhubaneswar. In a nutshell, it is one of the best short distance express trains of ECoR and the people of Odisha are grateful for the introduction of this train.
I personally prefer this train to go home, to Dhenkanal(DNKL) from Bhubaneswar(BBS) in case if I miss the 58422 Angul Passenger.
Details:
...

1)Ticket Availability: This train is very very popular on its entire route, but still then tickets remain available, even during holiday seasons, in all the classes. For people travelling to Chhattisgarh from Odisha, this train is always the first choice.(However, I would personally prefer, 12994 and 22827).
2)Punctuality: This is a short distance train, hence huge delays like 3-4hrs is very rare, however, it travels only until BBS on time, it usually reaches CTC with a 5 min delay, and reaches DNKL, usually with a delay of20-30 mins. It runs slow b/w CTC and DNKL. The only reason is that, the consequent passenger halts en-route, fail to give it green signal in timeso that it can maintain its speed. As the stations are almost on astreaight line, the driver can view the signal of the upcoming station, from around 2 kms in this part of the route, hence he/she slows the train down. Sometimes it takes unnecessary stops within CTC and DNKL which is very disappointing. After departing from DNKL, upto TLHD, there exists a double track after that, its single track, all the way to Raipur, hence the delay accumulated within DNKL is not usually recovered. It usually reaches Raipur with an average delay of an hour.
3)Speed: As I pointed out earlier, it runs slow, however, if it gets continuous green signals, then, it is very very aggressive on the track. It does mps i.e 110 kmph within MCS and CTC and within and intermediate station, Rajathagarh(RJGR) and DNKL and also within RAIR and SBP.
Tourism: Harishankar is a very beautiful tourist destination in western Odisha. People usually have to deboard at Bolangir(BLGR) to get a bus to this place, however one can take this train to Harishanker Road, and geT there easily and it reaches there in the early morning. If you're travelling from Coastal Odisha then this train is even more beneficial as you can take this train in the evening back home as Harishankar is a spot, which can be fully enjoyed within a day.
4)Tips for Short Distance passengers: Those who take this train for short distance travels, can easily get a seat in the GEN compartments. However if you're an MST holder, then you can easily travel in the SL class and the TTE will not argue. many MST holders board this train from BBS to DNKL/ANGL. They primarily take the S1,S2 and S4 boggies, hence an MST holder can easily travel in these boggies.
I don't want to promote anything illegal, but If the you see that the GEN boggies are jam-packed(during holidays. especially in August and October), then ask the TTE for help (If you're not an MST holder), he'll definitely give you a seat, either in 3A or in SL. They usually charge Rs.50 from BBS and DNKL in SL and Rs.100 for the same in 3A. The price is double, between BBS and ANGL.
ECO FRIENDLY: This is actually and absurd but true fact on the part of this train. Between PURI and TLHR, this train runs with a VSKP WAM-4, which reduces air pollution and usage of diesel. IT is an exemplary thing, which MUST be followed b all railway zones. Usually, other trains on this route, take a diesel loco from PURI/BBS itself, and run with it on a fully electrified double track till ANGL, I call this train, the Eco-Friendly express.

5)CONCLUSION: Please carry food with you for overnight journeys as this train doesn't have a pantry. You can have food by IRCTC e-catering, from BBS, otherwise carry food from home.
Again if you're travelling from Chhattisgarh to Odisha the this should be your first preference.
However, from Odisha to Chhattisgarh, the first priority must be 12994 PURI-GIMB SF, with the second choice being 22827, PURI-ST SF, however, those are weekly trains and hence on days other than Mondays and Sundays, you can always take this train.(On Wednesdays, prefer 18473 PURI-JU over this train).

This station doesn't resemble like a state capital's railhead.
If you plan to have your dinner at BBS enroute rather than the pantry, it would be a blunder when your train arrives anywhere except PF-1.
Totally pathetic cleanliness of the food kiosk and rubbish food are served by the vendors.
PF-1 on the other hand is maintained very well and all amenities are
