The "Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam National Memorial" is a mausoleum in memory of A. P. J. Abdul Kalam (1931–2015), the 11th President of India (2002-2007), located in his home town, Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, India. The memorial was designed and constructed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) as a tribute to Kalam and to display the cultural heritage and ethnic diversity of India. It was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2017. A symbol of national integration, the memorial is an amalgamation of Mughal and Indian architecture.

HOUSE OF KALAM
As the name suggests, House of Kalam is the childhood home of India’s beloved former president, late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Not many know that late Dr Kalam was born and raised till his teenage years in the temple town of Rameswaram. The House of Kalam was established as museum in 2011, in order t ensure that people who visit the town and wish to know about this Bharat ratna get just about enough and precise information about late Dr Kalam.

The Kothandaramaswamy Temple at Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu is a shrine dedicated to the Hindu deity Rama. Located at a distance of 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) from Rameswaram, it forms the southernmost tip of the island.The temple is the only historical structure to survive the 1964 cyclone that washed away Dhanushkodi. The temple has the deities of Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, Hanuman and Vibhishana. The temple is surrounded by sea and remains a tourist attraction. It is easily accessible from Rameswaram.
