Chennai's second most famous station lies barely more than a kilometre away from it's more famous counterpart Chennai Central. Lying centrally on the Chennai Beach-Tambaram-Chengalpattu line, Egmore is the gateway to Southern Tamil Nadu. Though connected countrywide, Egmore is more a terminus for trains coming from Southern cities like Madurai and Trichy, and an important passing station for the MSB-TBM-CGL line.
As more and more trains are now shifted and based in Tambaram, Egmore's stock has only raised over the years.

reddylohith22~ 840 blog postsextending KCG CGL till NCJ for 4 days/Daily will be better rather sending Charminar, as already KCG CGL/PDY is half ruined and now ruining charminar exp will be worthless. Atleast Charminar/Sambar SF will be dedicated to chennai. Anyways KCG CGL/PDY is mostly being used by Tirupathi Travelers Rather chennai pax. this will create alternative for NCJ pax for TPTY also.

why always Only Trains to Bengaluru from TN and Chennai. Hyderabad is worst connected to Chennai, all the 3 trains departs almost at the same time from Chennai and hyderabad charminar being the last train from both the sides. The KCG-CGL/PDY is literally worthless and Majority of them travel to Tirupati by booking it till AJJ. instead of extending Charminar till NCJ its better to extend KCG CGL till NCJ.
