শিকাগো মহাসম্মেলনের পর স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ ১৮৯৭ এর ১৯ফেব্রুয়ারী জাহাজে বজবজ পৌঁছান ও রেলস্টেশনের প্রতীক্ষালয়ে বিশ্রাম নেন। পরদিন ট্রেনে শিয়ালদহ স্টেশনে পৌঁছালে ২০হাজার মানুষ জয়ধ্বনি দিয়ে মহাসমারোহে তাঁকে বরণ করে নিয়েছিলেন। সেই বিশেষ দিনটিকে উদযাপন করার জন্য বিশেষ ব্যবস্থা নিল পূর্ব রেল।

If Majerhat - Budge Budge, sec is given to KGP/SE Rly & this 4 kms new Single Line track is constructed, Majerhat can be used KOAA like Terminal for SER.
Problem lies that a rail bridge need to constructed (shown in red) of 600-700 m over Hooghly.
Kolkata Port may or may not give permission.
