To ease congestion on the central suburban rail lines in Mumbai, the Central Railway (CR) is planning to increase services on the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Kasara and Karjat routes by 25%. Three key areas are being addressed: extending platforms on the fast line at CSMT, creating additional space on the slow line between Thane and Kalyan, and securing land for parking the new longer trains. The CR is also considering adding two new railway lines between Kalyan and Badlapur on the Karjat route and Kalyan and Asangaon on the Kasara route. This initiative comes after passenger associations demanded increased services on these lines.

main areas pe kaam chal raha hai: CSMT par fast line platforms ko extend karna, Thane aur Kalyan ke beech slow line par extra space banana, aur naye lambi trains ko park karne ke liye jagah dhundhna. CR Kalyan aur Badlapur ke beech Karjat route pe aur Kalyan aur Asangaon ke beech Kasara route pe do new railway lines bhi add karne pe bhi soch raha hai. Yeh sab passenger associations ke demands ke baad chal raha hai, jinhone in lines par services badhaane ki maang ki thi.
