The waiting list for trains between Mumbai and Sawantwadi is already full due to the long holiday from August 15th to 19th. Due to the high demand and expected crowd on the weekends, the railways are expected to introduce special trains for Chiplun, Ratnagiri, and Sawantwadi. The Konkan Development Committee has requested the railway administration to add special trains between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, and Dadar to Chiplun, Ratnagiri, and Sawantwadi during the Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan holidays. The committee has also highlighted the need for additional trains during peak travel seasons to manage the increased crowd.
