The DPR will include details on the line’s length, route composition, station locations, depot details, coach requirements, ridership projections, operational plan, and total cost. The DPR consultant will also explore potential extensions of the line from Avadi to Pattabiram. The selection process is currently underway with technical evaluation of bids and a financial bid opening planned to follow. A consultant is expected to be appointed by June 2024, and a preliminary draft of the DPR is expected to be released by the first quarter of 2025.
