with 255,000 passengers. The underwater tunnel, a part of the 16.6-km East-West Metro corridor, connects Howrah Maidan to Sector V and was built at a cost of Rs 8,600 crore. The 520-meter underwater section, built by Afcons Infrastructure, consists of twin tunnels made of concrete rings with hydrophilic gaskets to prevent water ingress. The trains operate 26 meters below ground level, 36 meters from the water's surface.

Underwater tunnel, 16.6 km ke East-West Metro corridor ka ek hissa hai, aur yeh Howrah Maidan ko Sector V se jodta hai, aur yeh Rs 8,600 crore mein banaya gaya hai. 520 meter ka underwater section, Afcons Infrastructure ne banaya hai, aur yeh dono tunnels se bana hai, jo concrete rings se banaya gaya hai, aur hydrophilic gaskets se pani andar aane se roka gaya hai. Trains 26 meter neeche ground level pe chalte hain, aur yeh pani ki surface se 36 meter neeche hai.
