ensure operational standards and safety protocols. The trial run achieved a speed of 74 km/h. This trial run was part of a larger project to extend the Metro Railway Kolkata service from Dumdum to Noapara, covering 2.091 km of metro line. The project was initiated on July 10th, 2013, with a construction contract for a viaduct between Kestopur Khal (Canal) and the former Circular Railway's ramp awarded to Senbo Engineering in June 2011 for Rs 1.27 billion. The project faced challenges, including land acquisition issues and encroachments along the canal. The purpose of the trial run was to validate the Schedule of Dimensions clearances for the train, ensuring its safe passage through tunnels, bridges, platforms, and other infrastructure by observing its interaction with surrounding civil structures. InnoMetro, a flagship Expo and Conference, encourages participation in shaping the future of Kolkata's Metro towards sustainability.
