** Indian railways seem to introduce new trains on considerations more based on the recommendation/ gut feeling of Political Big wigs/ RMs/ top IR bureaucrats/ Members of railway consultative committees etc instead of concrete rail-road-air traffic survey of the route.
** IR should make it a standard practice to introduce new trains on trial basis for a definite period say 6 months and based on the detailed study of patronage and feedback from travelers, decide

destinations, Stoppages, Rake composition, Frequency of operation etc.
** A team should be dedicated solely to study and prepare traffic survey reports at IR level and not on divisional/zonal level so that tendency of proposal/introduction of intra zonal trains will not be there

** It is learnt that IR shall not start operation of 600+ poorly patronized trains even after easing out of the COVID pandemic.
** IND-NGP-DURG-R-BSP-SBP-BBS-Puri Humsafar is likely to be one of them. This train was introduced when IR has undue obsession with introduction of new Humsafar Trains and these trains were raining throughout the IR network even on routes where normal SF trains were demanded/required.
** It used to be very poorly patronized on Puri-BSP section and much better patronized on BSP/R-NGP-IND section.

Instead of discontinuing this train,
(1) Triweekly SF train on INDB-BPL-NGP-Durg-Raipur/BSP -Best Solution
(2) Weekly/ Biweekly Humsafar on INDB-BPL-NGP-Durg-Raipur/BSP – using same rake
