Even if the TalgoBCT-NDLS run is successful, and India decides to go for commercial introduction of SHS train sets, it is unlikely that order shall be given to Talgo. Most probably there will be an open tender which will be participated by more reputed international players like Alstom, Bombardier, Siemens etc. also, and they are already having manufacturing facility in India much to the advantage of I Rlys.
Talgo trains have been tested, but actually it was a better test of IRly tracks for fitness for higher speeds. It is believed that conventional Indian tracks can take on speeds up to 200 kmph, beyond which dedicated tracks are necessary.
