Indian Railway have been asked to start THOOTHUKKUDI-VILATHIKULAM-ARUPPUKKOTTAI-MADURAI new broad gauge line works.Thoothukkudi Port connectivity improved to Madurai and Trichy via Aruppukkottai ,Manamadurai and Karaikkudi.
Thoothukkudi-VILATHIKULAM-ARUPPUKKOTTAI-MADURAI New line sould be executed as PORT connectivity mode only and Thoothukkudi Port Trust also participated in the cost sharing for the project.Only viability of the project should be financed the Project cost as Central 50%+State 25%+Thooyhukkudi Port Trust 25%/Port connectivity fund.Several Port connectivity lines are executed by the Railways in various States such as Gujarat,Andhra,Kerala etc.So arrange funds in various means and may be executed by EFFICIENTLY by the RVNL.
