What happened to this... Why did things go bad when the VB started? The Y train goes all the way to Delhi station and also has good timing. The VB only goes to the cantt station and has late departure + late arrival from Jaipur.

Nah, it ain't like that at all. The starting weekdays don't have a lot of current available. And even if there is some, it usually gets sold out at the last minute. I've seen this thing with over 1000 currents being full in the late night.

If you compare it to the earlier screenshot, more than 500 seats for Wednesday have already been sold. The rest will probably be sold in the next few hours.

500 Availability right now in this train is normal. In fact, 100-300 availability in any AC premium intercity train from Delhi is normal and considered good. These trains always get fully booked within four hours. By 5 PM in the evening, you will see that all 591 seats are already taken. This is how it goes. For short distances, bookings are made instantly and people decide to travel on a whim. This train should at least make a stop in Rewari. Extending it to CDG might not be possible as it could mess up its current schedule. However, IR can consider expanding to UMB with a quick turnaround.
