IR acts as a binding force of the country. Any region still lacking a decent rail connectivity is bound to be less developed than the others. Be it militancy affected Kashmir, insurgency affected North East, naxalism (left wing extremism) affected parts of Central India or any other backward region for that matter. No amount of roads and airports can unite a country as much as trains can do.

IR also ensures a very basic fundamental right of "Freedom of Movement" by taking us from one corner of the country to the other. Come to think of it, it also ensures our "Freedom of Speech & Expression", as we speak our hearts out to our fellow passengers along the journey. People also form associations with the passengers, sometimes they end with the journey and sometimes they go beyond it.

In all its true spirits, Indian Railways is a true reflection of the vision and essence of the constitution.

ABOUT THE VIDEO - It features a compilation of various trains plying on the Delhi - Rewari route which primarily serves the trains coming from western part of the country (Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra) towards the national capital.

1. I think early 60s me hua tha Grand Chord ka electrification. Iske baad HWH-NGP-CSTM line ka hua tha.
2. CRP-TELO-GMO early 1930s me nahi 1970s me bana tha I think.
3. ASN-DHN-JRI-BJE line unelectrified single BG line tha. ASN-BJE bolke ek train hua karta tha. baad me ASN-DHN passenger bana woh.
4. DHN me LC/LR old station me hi zyada hua karta tha...

jab steam shed operational tha. Tab sirf ASN me Electric shed tha, STN aur JAJ me steam shed tha. 1990s me D-locos ka adda hua ASN/DHN ye sab kyuki Kiul Bakimpore Danapore unelectrified tha. Present ECR/NER ka bahut section tab MG hua karta tha.
5. BKSC-CRP -GMO banne ke baad hi electrify kiya gaya. BKSC ek important LC point hua karta tha for freights/passengers. I think upto MURI electrified tha.
6. "Dhn's capability to support loco reversals over the years has immensely deteriorated", Not needed rather it is much easier to byepass DHN. On the contrary ASN ka load bada hain ghata nahi. Ab jake Damodar Mohisila line bann raha hain, but South Bihar, Tata-Danapur this are all dependent on LR in ASN. Before ASN byepass was ready towards the main line, unka bhi LR ASN me hota tha.
7. BBS Rajdhani ka original route via HWH-ASN-DHN tha, baad me change hota raha hain. Puru has been running before CRP-GMO line was there, after the line was done Neelanchal was introduced I think.

1.When you say 'old' dhn stn how old do you really mean? It has to be like really old
2.Can the present dhn stn support loco reversals? I always thought that the line from kusunda converges with the line from bhuli only after the stn
It's a hell of a curve leading into dhn so I could never really focus on anything else while I was there :P
