SER had sent a proposal to SR to restore Haldia-Chennai Exp. But SR have denied to restore Haldia-Chennai exp .
This is a bad news for people of WB and specially Purba Midnapur and pashchim midnapore districts of WB.
For people of purba midnapur it was the only dedicated train for chennai and south india which was mainly used by patients and poor labours to travel directly from Haldia, Tamluk, Panskura and whole purba midnapore district.

I am from Haldia and cancelling this train permanently after lockdown has caused significant problems to the people. Patients, labourers, etc. used this train to commute to south India.. Many protests and demands were upheld but none paid attention to it.. This train had a good occupancy and used to run almost full. Imo, ER should take control of this region for public good
Yes many protest done by local people , local TMC leaders demanded, passenger associations demanded restoration of this train. After that SER had sent proposal to SR to restore this train as this train belongs to SR. But SR has denied to restore this train.
The only hope is if BJP MPs from purba midnapore district of WB and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari takes some initiative and talk to RM. But BJP leaders and BJP MPs from Purba and Pashchim Midnapore do not any initiative in developing railway infrastructure in these neglected areas of WB.

To be honest, Haldia has enough resources to make the city a bustling hub for work. Improving railway network is one of them. But in-charge SER does nothing to improve passenger revenue from Haldia.. This zone is only interested in Haldia's freight section due to huge profits. At present Haldia has 3 local trains to Kolkata, 1 intercity to Asansol and a weekly Express train to Delhi's Anand Vihar.

Yes. More trains from Haldia to Howrah, and EMU train from Haldia to Midnapore is required.

VENKETESWAR~ 1000 blog postsGuys becareful don't exchange your seats to others passgers specially 3rd ac or any action class if you have Side lower berth or window Chair car /EC seat then never exchange with them because they want to enjoy your window seat and also other reason your luggage may be snatched by them just tell them lie my legs have fractured or tell them my legs are Injured same incident happened with me a 45+ old lady trying to seats exchange request for a lower berth seat and her seats was upper but I didn't exchanged and said them I have leg injury issues but she is begging for lower berth and said I am a old woman facing problems while climbing but I totally declined reason my luggage can be snatched by others besure don't exchanged your seats don't listen those passgers who want to enjoy window seats because she wants...

When I was a regular passenger on the HWH-NDLS route, I faced this issue a lot of times. Ultimately I would mitigate this issue by tying a crepe bandage on my left or right ankle.
It spared me the trouble of having to argue with a middle age uncle/aunty and getting those uncomfortable glares from the rest of my fellow passengers...

Those middle aged passgers always targeting us because we are youths worsted things was my father was co passenger trying to favour of that aunty he said exchange your seat of that aunty go and sleep in middle berth but I declined my father's order and convenience him
When i luckily got side lower seat I slept peacefully in 12134. It was horribly late that. time Around 1am when Madgaon station came a lady came and woke me up yo exchange seat with her middle berth. I was furious with her and said sorry i wont. She started abusing me and hell lot of things she said to me. I tucked my earphones and went to sleep again.

SER can utilize the TATA-LTT Antodaya Exp slot to run SRC-LTT Amrit Bharat Exp with SL, GS coaches. I had given this suggestion to SER Railway officials. But not very confident as i got no positive response.

All try from everyone to Restore Haldia-Chennai Exp is seems to have failed. SER, SR, RM, RB is not ready to listen and fullfill passenger requirements and demands from passenger associations, local MLA. BJP MP from that district has no interest to listen to local public demands and takes no initiative to fulfill them. Busy only with publicity stunt in TV.

KGP-VM has been diverted via Perambur now. Could be possible to also extend it upto Haldia. LHB rake can be given to avoid need for SM.
