It's mainly a train prefered by office goers and students travelling to and from Ernakulam from KTYM side..So it runs via ERS for the sake of convenience of those passengers..
Few years back it was done so..But due to huge passenger protest it was restored back via ERS

പുതിയ കോച്ചുകള് ലഭിച്ചാല് ഏപ്രില് ആദ്യവാരം സര്വീസ് പുനഃസ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നത് റെയില്വേ ബോര്ഡിന്റെ സജീവ പരിഗണനയിലാണ്. മുന്പു മുംബൈയിലേക്കു സര്വീസ് നടത്തിയിരുന്ന ട്രെയിന്, ടൈംടേബിള് പരിഷ്ക്കരിച്ചപ്പോള് പുണെ വരെയാക്കി ചുരുക്കിയിരുന്നെങ്കിലും സര്വീസ് ആരംഭിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. കോവിഡിന്റെ പേരില് നിര്ത്തലാക്കിയ ട്രെയിന് ഒന്നര വര്ഷമായി സര്വീസ് നടത്തുന്നില്ല.
ഗൂട്ടി, വാഡി, റായ്ച്ചൂര്, ഗുണ്ടക്കല്, ഗുല്ബര്ഗ, സോലാപുര് തുടങ്ങിയ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലേക്കു കേരളത്തില് നിന്നുള്ള ഏക ട്രെയിനാണിത്. ദിവസവും രാത്രി ഒന്പതരയോടെ പുണെയിലെത്തി രാത്രി പതിനൊന്നരയോടെ തിരികെ പുറപ്പെടുന്ന സമയക്രമമാണു ജയന്തിക്കു നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്....

It was also one of the most preferred trains by TPTY bound pilgrims from Kerala..Main reason being it's early morning arrival at TPTY for 16382, and evening departure from TPTY for 16381..Now that option has become unavailable..
