This blog is posted here just for the Information of all rail fans.
All are humbly requested to share their views and opinions whether this move of mine will yeild any positive outcome or not????
Today I have sent an email to:
the Chief Operations Manager of South Eastern Railway Mr G.K Mohanti having email Id: com@ser.railnet.gov.in and also sent a copy
...
of this same mail to the General Manager Of South Eastern Railway Mr Shri Radhey Shyam having email Id: gm@ser.railnet.gov.in. I share the Subject of my mail and the mail body which was mailed to the Email IDs of both the Chief Operations Manager and General Manager of South Eastern Railway at 6.24 pm today.
Subject of the my Mail: "Request for providing 3 Phase Electric Locomotive WAP 7 in Santragachi(SRC) Loco Shed"
Mail Body of my email sent to the Chief Operations Manager and General Manager of South Eastern Railway at 6.24 pm today :
Respected Sir,
With reference to the subject as mentioned I would like to request you for providing "WAP 7 Locomotive" in Santragachi Loco Shed of South Eastern Railway for hauling the following trains of South Eastern Zone, replacing the conventional Loco WAP 4 of SRC/HWH Shed which presently hauling these trains.
The trains for which WAP 7 is requested are as follows:
12261/12262 HWH CSTM AC DURONTO EXP
12221/12222 HWH PUNE AC DURONTO EXP
12245/12246 HWH YPR DURONTO EXP
12277/12278 HWH PURI SHATABDI EXP
22807/22808 SRC CHENNAI SF AC EXP
12841/12842 HWH MAS COROMONDOL EXP
12860/12859 HWH CSTM GEETANJALI EXP
As a matter of fact South Eastern Zone does not have any 3 Phase Locomotive in it's Santragachi ELS but has 72-74 WAP 4's in It's SRC shed and all these are used for hauling the mail/express trains of SER Zone whether it is a non superfast or Superfast or Duronto or Shatabdi.
It is also a fact that Superfast Express like Tata Steel Express is still hauled by TATA WAM 4.
Rupasi Bangla/Tamralipta Express is still hauled by WAG 5 loco. Sometimes WAG 7 loco is also seen hauling mail/exp of South eastern Zone.
Very surprising incidents are these happened in South Eastern Zone, the reason for which is best known to you.

The first WAP 7 was manufactured by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works(CLW) in 19 th May 2000.The loco number was 30201 and the loco name was "Navkiran". Since then it was in service of Indian Railways. Initially it was allotted to GMO Shed but from 27.12.2012 this loco belongs to GZB Shed of northern zone. Now as per Oct 2014 statistics there are 205+ WAP 7 locomotives plying in Indian Railway, but astonishingly not a single WAP 7 has been seen in South Eastern Zone during this long term of 15 years.
I am very eager to know why WAP 7 is not allotted to SRC ELS of SER where Eastern Zone has 19 WAP 7s in their Howrah Shed.
Is there any possibility of allotting WAP 7 to SRC ELS in future for hauling the list of trains as mentioned????
or
Only WAP 4, WAM 4, WAG 5 etc will be seen in SER in the coming years also like it's past ?????
Sorry, but as a traveller and rail enthusiast it is very surprising to me that SER is still unable to provide WAP 7 for it's Duronto & Shatabdi Trains whereas other Zones can provide WAP 7/WAP 5 for their Rajdhani, Duronto ,Shatabdi and other important superfast trains.
Waiting for a prompt reply from your end.
Thanking you.
Don't know whether any reply will come from the end of Chief Operations Manager and General Manager regarding the Non allotment of WAP 7 in SRC ELS, but as a "Rail Fan" I took this step out of the curiosity why SER have no 3 phase Locos during this long term of 15 years since WAP 7 30201 made it's journey in 19 th May 2000.
Thanks

********************The Paradise Of South India********************
"Kovalam Sea Beach" which is also known as " The Paradise Of South India" is just 16 kms from the City Thiruvanantpuram of Kerala.
Literally "Kovalam" means a grove of coconut trees and true to its name the village offers an endless sight of coconut trees.
Beaches Of kovalam:
Kovalam
...
has three beaches separated by rocky outcroppings in its 17 km coastline, the three together form the famous crescent of the Kovalam beach
1 Lighthouse Beach
The southernmost beach, the Lighthouse Beach is the one most frequented by tourists, Lighthouse Beach got its name due to the old Vizhinjam Lighthouse located on a rocky promontory here. Its intermittent beams at night render the beach with an unearthly charm.[4]
2 Hawah Beach
Eve’s Beach, more commonly known as Hawa Beach, ranks second, in the early day, is a beehive of activities with fishermen setting out for sea. With a high rock promontory and a calm bay of blue waters, this beach paradise creates a unique aquarelle on moonlit nights.
3 Samudra Beach
A large promontory separates this part from the southern side. Samudra Beach doesn't have tourists thronging there or hectic business. The local fishermen ply their trade on this part.
Tourist facilities
There are a large number of beach resorts in and around Kovalam. The sea port of Vizhinjam is about 3 km away and famous for its special varieties of fish, old Hindu temples, big churches and a mosque. The Proposed International Trans shipment Terminal at Vizhinjam is also close to Kovalam.
Kovalam was among the most prominent tourist spots in India during the hippy era. It still has a high status among tourists, who arrive mostly from Europe and Israel.[citation needed] Kovalam is finding a new significance in the light of several Ayurvedic salons, and recuperation and regeneration resorts which provide a wide variety of Ayurvedic treatments for tourists.
