Recently, Google had organized a "Mapathon" where everyone could upload the details of their neighbourhood into Google Maps. The event was a great success. However, the Survey of India lodged a police complaint against Google that they were "compromising the security of India". Needless to say, the Survey of India was openly ridiculed and laughed at all over the internet with the common refrain being:
When the Survey of India was asked what precise laws were broken by Google, their answer was:
"We don't know. It is for the police to investigate and find out".
.
Such a nuisance police complaint continues to cost Google some legal manpower and resources. But, Google can easily afford it.

As such, this site wishes to steer clear of any such controversy, if possible.
