More coaches for this train should be requested because it runs on the most prioritized route and has a high volume of passenger traffic, resulting in longer wait times and ticket shortages. Ac coaches should be brought up to a high level, and non-AC coaches should also be increased.

Definitely a train like Panchaganga definitely needs more coaches if the Kannur Express can run with 22 poachers. Why not this?

I read in a Hindu article that the places where these trains cross have branches that are of different lengths. The MRDW-SMVT train first crosses 16595 Panchaganga at Sakleshpur which has a large crossing length so it has lots of coaches. The Kannur SBC express via Kunigal crosses at Yedakumari which has a reasonably long length. The other Panchaganga 16596 crosses 16595 at Shiribagilu which has smaller crossing branch track length. I believe due to terrain and highly protected areas of western ghats.
Even so, I feel the generator car of Panchaganga express wastes an entire coach which could have occupied more people. Instead of using LHB coaches they should have retained ICF coaches with better suspension. The only advantage of LHB

in this section is that the track shakes are more dampened than the noisy ICF rakes
