Last Saturday I traveled from Howrah to Chandannagar. I boarded Bandel local(of 09:25, though departed at 09:31) from Howrah. Here are few observations during my short trip:
1. Two Volvo buses (VS-2) were parked on the cab road beside PF8 at Howrah station. I think, the VS-2 buses depart from and terminate at the cab road itself.
2. Down Indore-Howrah Shipra express was at PF10. Though the rake was not looking new, 3-4 coaches had digital display board outside the body.
3....
more... The empty rake of 3010 Doon express was being shunted and rake composition was quite interesting. Just after the shunting loco there was S1, after that ladies cum percel van, then S2 and S3, next B2,B1 and A1, then S4 to S9, after that three general and a SLR, then S10 and S11 from MGS. Thus the full composition becomes,
SHUNTING LOCO-S1-LD CUM PARCEL VAN-S2-S3-B1-B2-A1-S4-S5-S6-S7-S8-S9-GS-GS-GS-SLR-S10-S11
4. Late running down Kalka-Howrah mail was coming through Bally Chord station when the Bandel local was entering Bally Main station.
5. During the journey, total 19 EMU's crossed my train, out eight had 12 coach rakes.
