Coming back to the Discussions of 12840,I have spotted this train many times @ HWH & MAS.The serious problem with SER & SR are unlike other Railway Zones in India,they dont want to use New Made Coaches or perhaps supply has stopped from RCF Kapurthala.Some of the coaches are even 80 made in SR.In SER,coaches are mostly 95-2005 made,but lack of maintenance has detoriated the conditions.But even if they dont want to bring new coaches,they can still send the Old Coaches to Carriage Repairing Work Shop(CRWS),Bhopal for rennovation.Recently SER has taken this initiative & as a result 08003/08004 has got some renovated coaches.Hopefully prestigious 12841/12840 will also get rennovated coaches very soon.The other thing is that the Coach Cleansing Equipment in SRC yard,which cleans the Outer Body of the Coaches while it slowly moves into the yard,is out of order for past 2 years.In KCG Station,SCR I have seen the OBHS...

staffs clean the Outer Body of the Coaches very carefully.But in SRC yard,due to lack of maintenance,no one cleans the Outer Body.As a result,the exterior of 12841/12840 has become very dirty due to the Pan Spits.Passengers are also very irresponsible.Many Labour Class People travel in these trains,who lacks civic Sense that Indian Railways is Our National Property.Afterall,passengers also have some responsibilty for maintaining cleanliness of Coaches.

Even I face the same thin by 12510 SBC-GHY express in 2007.
The water tank at teh 2A coach was leaking near the gate & the bed roll ported told me that SBC carriage staff did not bother to rectify that, as it is a NFR train.
Many times it happens that new coaches are detached & replaced with old coaches.
