I am just finishing my journey to Howrah on the Geetanjali express from Mumbai. The train travelled fairly on time and the on coach services were decent. However the toilets still stink. This is the A2 coach I am talking about. The toilets on both A2 and the next coach across the vestibule all were Indian style. One cannot traverse the length of the coach for Western types.
Besides, the latches were not working properly. The flushes were very weak which maybe the reason for the stench. However the soap was there in all the washbasins.
One...
more... major problem was the hop on passengers at aall stations. They did not have any compunction about plonking down on a seat in the reserved coach. Se were Railway employees too. Some of my fellow passengers with reserved bookings were complaining to the TTI. While he promised to take action, there is precious little power he can wield over streams of hop ons. This has to be curbed. While I have seen it thru the years, I feel it must change in today's New India.
Hope this gets read by the Powers that be!
Adios!
