please wait...Translate to EnglishYo, there's this plan for a new railway line to link up Kurnool and Amaravathi capital via Nandyal. The deal is that it'll be super clutch to connect peeps from Kurnool to the new Andhra Pradesh capital, Amaravathi. Right now, the existing route takes around 3 hours (129 kms) to get to Nandyal via Dhone with a LOCO having to reverse at Dhone station. But, the proposed new line from Dupadu to Krishnammakona (35kms) will be a game-changer, cutting down travel time by over 2 hours. Dupadu is on the Secunderabad-Dhone line and Krishnammakona is on the Nandyal-Guntakal line. The route might go through villages like Nannuru, Orvakallu, Kalvabugga, and Somayajulapalli. The Andhra Pradesh government is planning to turn Orvakallu into an industrial hub, so this line would be key for folks trying to get to the new capital. It would be the shortest route and a win-win for Indian Railways, connecting Kurnool City to Amaravathi. This new line would also be super beneficial for the peeps in Rayalaseema, decreasing traffic at Dhone and Gooty.
It's not just about travel time, this route could also help out big time when the main Chennai-Howrah route gets flooded in the rainy season. Providing an alternative route from Chennai to Howrah through Arakkonam, Tirupathi, Kadapa, Nandyal, Kacheguda, Kazipet, Nagpur, and Howrah. This could be a game-changer for Indian Railways and could boost the economy by linking up major industries in the region. This proposed 45km route would be a short cut for states like Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.
There's also talk of extending and starting new trains from Nandyal to improve connectivity. Like extending the Arakkonam-Kadapa train to Nandyal and starting a night express to Tirupathi via Nandyal and more. Peeps from villages rely on Nandyal station, so there's a need for better facilities like escalators, seating arrangements, additional entrances, and services like rail reservation counters. Plus, there's potential for projects at Gajulapalli R.S station and Chelama Railway station that could create job opportunities and income for the local peeps. This is all based on feedback from a survey conducted among the public. So, it's worth considering and discussing with the higher-ups to make it happen!
