Rightly said bro, people are likely to prefer the faster JS connection, but as a result the occupancy of steel exp shall be compromised which will be a loss to IR. But the timing of JS is too aggressive esp. keeping in view frequent stops, its priority looks like more then HWH-MUM Duronto which is no-1 train of the route with ultimate priority.
.
However for HWH-JSG/SBP overnight journey in Samleshwari Exp is preferable over the 8 hr chair car journey in JS. Samleshwari runs with just 19 ICF coaches and have ample...
more... scope for augmentation and for speeding up also.
.
Practically the proposed JS shall be most convenient for HWH-TATA/CKP/ROU. For HWH-TATA the HWH-Barbil JS departing HWH at 6:25 shall be preferable. and CKP/ROU does not have enough traffic potential for a JS
.
Alternatively the steel exp may be speeded up and prioritised like JS and can save about 1 hr in journey time and JS can be introduced in complementary timing i.e. departing HWH on noon with SBP arr at night, leaving SBP at early morning and reach HWH by noon. But again 12 coach train with super premium slot is not desired.
.
In a nutshell there are enough short distance I/C chaircar trains on the route which have ample scope of augmentation for taking on addl traffic in near future. TMC RMs have given enough short distance I/C trains from Kolkata most of which are running with lesser than desired number of coaches. How ever long distance trains on the route (HWH-JSG) are required, especially ones giving new connectivities like HWH-JSG-NGP-Panvel-Goa, HWH-JSG-NGP-Pune-KOP/Goa, HWH-JSG-G-Chandrapur-SC, HWH-JSG-NGP-ST/ADI/Somnath/GIM etc.
