Indian Railways:Mumbai Nagercoil Express climbs massive gradient Khandala
A mean looking Erode monster appears from nowhere and climbs the steep 1:37 gradient at Khandala railway station. Khandala gradient has to be one amongst the steepest gradients present in Indian Railways. Since the trains coming from Mumbai towards Pune have to pass some steep gradients on Bhor ghats 2 or 3 bankers are attached at the rear to make the climb easier. In this case two KYN WAG7 bankers aka Howlers attached at the rear, can be seen in full cry, pushing the train up the ghats.
