Anirudh's wording on his capture: Finally after facing many hurdles for over a year, finally got to see the blazing force and also the Undisputed King in the Speed Department of Indian Railways aka Bhopal Shatabdi at over 155 km/hr..!!
It's been like over an year since i heard the rumor that the King of Indian Railways has started breaking the 150 barrier so my first conquest to catch the King at above 150 was in March, where i captured the Speed King thrashing Sholaka at over 150 speed but still that thirst for getting it at above 150 didn't die there,i made it a point that next time i will travel to station post Kosi Kalan where the real steel of the speed demons are unfolded.
But somehow i wasn't able to go at any station when i came to Delhi in May,so this time around in August i made sure that i will definitely go to a spot where i can actually witness the aggression of the majesty at over 155 speed.
So on a one fine morning on the very day of Janmastmi,i along with my brother landed at the speed heaven Ajhai where i was adamant that my speed thirst of catching the Speed Demon at over the 155 limit will be fulfilled. Now our journey started at 4 am in the morning from Delhi and thanks to free traffic on the NH-2 we were able to reach Ajhai station by 6:30 am.
On reaching the station we witnessed some terrific speedy show which started with Chhatisgarh Express on the Down line and followed by Chhatisgarh Sampark Kranti and Mumbai Rajdhani on the Up line towards Delhi. Now it was at 6:55 am that the starter followed by the advanced starter turned green and without any further doubts about which train it could be i started my brisk walk towards the south end of the station from the platform. When i reached the half way mark i was astonished to see the UP starter indicating green,so i halted to catch my breath while on the other hand the WAG-7 led freight rumbled through the up line at a good speed. As soon as the freight cleared the station outer,it was then i saw a white beast making it's approach from the north end of the station which was accompanied with some honking.
Knowing that the King aka Bhopal Shatabdi was approaching i began my sprint towards the south end just to get a good zoom of the approaching thunder. The moment i was about to reach the spot the King raging from behind announced it's arrival with it's typical honking.
It was then i stopped and started recording this majestic sight which i had awaited for so long time. The Speed King of our Indian Railways aka the 12002 Bhopal Shatabdi led by the fastest locomotive of Indian Railways ie. GZB WAP-5#30018 first announced it's arrival with some nice honking and then silently blazed past the Ajhai station at a fhaadu speed of over 155 km/hr.Really i was all shivering by the force wave generated by the speeding KING. Though i was disappointed with the no honk show when the Bhopal Shatabdi cleared the station, but i was happy that the Jhansi crew acknowledged me with a small honk which they blew when the engine was about to clear past my spot.
While i was talking the video,my brother who was standing behind me timed the seconds in which the KING cleared his spot.It took almost 9.45 seconds for the Speed King to clear my spot.Really the King went like a bullet.
Finally i had a first sigh of relief after capturing the KING at Ajhai which i had waited for over a year and my speed thirst was finally quenched with a terrific 155+ speed show. But still my hunger doesn't die here, will be coming back for more in my next trip. Stay tuned :D :D
