What is double upgradation from Sleeper (SL) to AC-3 tier (3A)? 13 Answers What is double upgradation from Sleeper (SL) to AC-3 tier (3A)? auto upgrade is possible one step only ie: 3AC to 2AC, Not as 3AC to 1AC. If berths are vacant in 1AC, 2AC is full and 3AC has WL, then some 2AC passengers are upgraded to 1AC, and then some3 AC passengers are upgraded to 2AC. Please dont be too greedy. some bloggers here gave instances of double upgradation of instances even though it is assumed that it is one only. (i dont remember the blog numbers, but in a discussion of similar kind, this came out) i have an instance of my brother in WL(3S) in NDLS BCT Sector getting confirmed and upgraded to 3A from WL of 3S. these things do happen and in cases where there are more vacances in upper class and more wl in lower levels, upgradation may be done two levels. railways have their own set... more... Upgradation will happen randomly for CNF and WL passengers getting confirmed. Who will get upgrade, only fate can decide. What is double upgradation from SL to 3AC? That is single upgradation only - its one class higher. Railways can do 2 levels of upgradation, but the same passenger cannot get upgraded across 2 levels. For example, one passenger is pushed up from 3AC (original class) to 2 AC (upgraded class) and another passenger is pushed up from SL (original class) to 3 AC (upgraded class). This passenger WILL NOT BE UPGRADED from SL (original class) to 2 AC (upgraded class), bypassing 3 AC (intermediate class). You said: "Railways can do 2 levels of upgradation". Please explain how a SL passenger will be benefitted with 2 level upgradation. Your explanation does good information, but it does not elaborate on '2 level' upgradtion for same passenger. I have seen people from SL have been upgraded to 2A several times in 2311; even 3A passengers have been upgraded to 1A. Result is Full 1A has been cut short to Composite 1A and 2A. Regards... more... That is correct. Furnishing blog no is not possible. However I do remember bloggers here citing examples, probably from the S. Railway website stating example of double upgradation. PS:- Both WL/Confirmed passengers are eligible for upgradation. '2 level' upgradation is not for same passenger. Its for passengers in different class. If someone from 3AC is upgraded to 2AC, it creates a vacancy in 3AC. Then this vacancy can be filled in by upgrading passenger from SL class. This was '2 level' upgradation benefits SL class passengers. This is a very very rare phenomenon. I am a frequent traveller and also have the frequent traveller card. But, i yet not upgraded nor i heard about anyone who is upgraded in my freind circle or family. So, better not to be greedy for these chances as you really cant expect it to happen in a country where the population is over 1.2 billion. Better, deserve for the services for which u paid. Have a good day guys it is not necessasary to upgrade in one class above. I have seen many times of upgradation of passengers of 3ac to 1ac. we also discuss this matter last month in the blog forum. I am creator of this Blog No.. Actually what I sought to know that whether the present practice of Upgrading 'WAITLISTED' passengers is going to be shifted to Upgradation of 'CONFIRMED' passengers ONLY... and that too in the ensuing Rly.Budget. Reply of The Railways to my inquiry [which gave birth to this blog] is clear. They are PLANNING something.! |
