Heard they are going to provide diesel locos from ED/GOC. ERS - ED is 306 km; ERS - TPJ is 448 km! Even now they haven't provided a single WDP 4 to this shed. To provide WDP 4 to Mangala Express, they are bringing it with Tea Garden Express! Instead of allotting few locos to ERS, they are running a train on DSL from ED to ERS & back(and charging AFC!!)

Chances of upgrading to SL really bleak, if you are going to SBC from ERS. This train has become really crowded after increase in frequency and stoppages.
Heard GUV - KTYM - PUU Passenger got good patronage, within a short span. Believe Railways is considering introduction of couple of Sleeper Class coaches too to this train.

diamondraajesh 475 blog postsThis train has no stoppages in KAYANKULAM,MAVELIKARA,CHENGANNUR,THIRUVALLA,ALUVA. whereas special services do stop at this junctions.
At podanur it stops for a minute and catches the linear route to irugur skipping Cbe Main junction.

You're absolutely right. Simply put, this is a rare service operated by TVC division which truly qualifies to be called 'SUPER FAST'!

As far as frequency & stoppages are concerned, there are two daily SF Express trains linking TVC to MAS via KTYM, ERN, PGT(Nos. 12695/96 & 12623/24). Further you've the bi weekly TVC - KRBA Express (16327/28) & TVC - GHY SF Expresses(12507/08 & 12515/16) as well.
Beyond ERS, you have the daily ALLP - MAS Express(16041/42) and ALLP - DHN/TATA(13351/52), in addition to quite a few weekly/bi weekly/tri weekly services(like TVM - SHM, TVC - GKP Rapti Sagar Exp, ERS - BJU Rapti Sagar Express, TVC - INDB Ahilya nagari etc). When you've this many options, why insist that a weekly SF train, which departs TVC @ 2005 on Saturdays too should stop at all intermediate stations like VAK, KYJ, MVLK,...

RFIR~ 6843 blog postsThe railways it appears is desperately short of coaches. Chair car coaches for an overnite journey....probably first time hearing the same being attached in the kcvl-tvc route. Only 4 sleeper class coaches and 6 chair car which is a surprise

Looks like they are using the rake of 06336/35 KCVL - DBRT Special to operate this service. Wish they used the lie over rake of 16331/32 TVC CSTM Express(which they sent to MAS) instead!
