It's definitely a thrill when a dream train of yours actually comes true with a better schedule. Nearly 15 years back, I had designed a CR Rajdhani to cater to the central suburbs of Mumbai and also to provide a great connection between Mumbai and Agra. My version ran between CSTM and NDLS with commercial halts at BSL, BPL, JHS and AGC, with a running time of 20.5 hrs. Though this train has two more halts at NK and GWL, it takes lesser time and that is just great!
IMHO, GWL halt is justified since there are just two superfast trains from LTT/CSTM that cater to GWL and only the Punjab Mail is the daily train. ...
more... This will be a 3rd (and fastest) option. I don't see why MMR needs to be a halt - it already has plenty of good trains connecting to Delhi and, of course, Mumbai.
I am sure this train will be a huge hit and will see an increase in frequency within a year!
