Lakshmi Narayana Ambarkar 13 blog postsIf you can't get ticket from/to intermediate stations in pooled quota, try booking end-to-end in general quota which has a higher chance of confirmation (at a higher ticket cost though).
I booked ticket at 11.15pm on 7/4/2019 for travel in 12164 on 8/4/2019 from MS to DR (with boarding point at GTL). Booking was in GNWL10 and 11. It got confirmed after chart preparation at 2.45 am.
I ended up paying ₹1500 (MS-DR) instead of ₹1150 (GTL-DR) but had a confirmed ticket in a very short notice.

At Dadar, 12163's coach positions used to be General-AC classes-Sleeper classes-General-Engine. Now it's the reverse, that is, General-Sleeper Classes -AC Classes-General-Engine.
From Chennai, 12164's coach positions used to be General-Sleeper Classes-AC Classes-General-Engine. Now it is General-AC Classes-Sleeper Classes-General-Engine.
At Dadar, 12163's coach positions used to be General-AC classes-Sleeper classes-General-Engine. Now it's the reverse, that is, General-Sleeper Classes -AC Classes-General-Engine.
From Chennai, 12164's coach positions used to be General-Sleeper Classes-AC Classes-General-Engine. Now it is General-AC Classes-Sleeper Classes-General-Engine.
