See the other post. Collision with an animal and loco breakdown. These kinds of delays happen due to such reasons only.

S Majumder 2212 blog postsIt was late by 4:47 hrs yesterday till CNB. What is the reason? ER Queen is running on time.
Possibly had a loco failure somewhere between NDLS and CNB. The previous day, Queen had suffered a massive loco failure just after departing CNB. Usually collisions with nilgayis are responsible.
The route from ALD to CNB is quite often a nightmare for this train. Crawls or even stops at very small stations in this route many times although the Rajdhanis ahead of it rip through easily.

SDAH rajdhani ko to halt dene ka koi matlab nahin....Bengal se hwh rajdhani ka to ALD mein halt hain hi. If 12313/4 is given halt, it will have more than 6 halts and the equality between the two bengal rajdhanis will be shattered.

So many non-rajdhanis dont stop at Sasaram, why make Sdah or hwh rajdhani the only targets?
Aur ab to lagta hain sdah rajdhani hi victim hogi because hwh rajdhani already has a stop at a small station.
Agar stop karwani hi hain to Dehri On Sone mein karwa do.

HWH Raj ka PNME mein stop ek political motive tha. Aur ab waise hi sdah rajdhani ke saath hone waala hain sasaram mein.
But it is unnecessary. SSM ke dono side within 20-25 km kuch rajdhanis and premium trains ke halts hain. One RNC Rajdhani and GR and BBS rajdhani stop at Koderma and two of them halt even at DOS.
But waha delhi-kanpur ke beech kitne major junctions mein ek bhi rajdhani ka koi halt nahin!!
