I would like to know the booking rules for unreserved ticket.
1. How early I can buy a ticket prior to the train's departure?
2. Should I buy the ticket from the boarding station itself?
3. Is there any distance restriction for buying ticket early?
Please

clarify.
thanks in advance.
Anand.

@other bloggers
Today, under the UTS system, you can buy a ticket from anywhere to anywhere subject to the restrictions of 200 kms. Beyond 200 kms you can purchase in advance of three days. But this has a flaw, and that is that within the zone you can purchase this kind of ticket.
You cannot imagine a person in TPJ buying a ticket from HWH to Bandel within the next three days, as an example.
So

it has to be within the Zone only, or, within a time frame only where it would be possible for the person to use the Unreserved ticket beyond 200 kms.
I will revert in this matter.
Good wishes.

Now tickets are issued within minutes, and for unreserved tickets, there are multiple counters at most stations, plus there are authorized PBTS agents who charge Rs 1 extra outside the station. Please look up your time table for the agents in your city/station area.
Good wishes.

Same rules apply. Journey must be completed within the time limits specified. If outside the time limit, you can purchase it at the originating station from where you wish to travel.
Travel begins on 3rd Oct. more than 200 kms. Buy Ticket on 1st Oct. If return journey is on 3rd Oct. it will be issued. If return journey is on 4th October, then it will not be issued (return journey ticket).
good wishes.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
