True in terms of connection. But Chennai or TVC doesn't need so many trains to MAQ and it is like just terminated at MAQ. It becomes 'dumped' when MAQ doesn't get its fair share of trains because of this action.
Now, the problem will be that MAQ SBC MAS will not have the general quota for MAQ SBC. It is better to have a dedicated MAQ SBC if possible rather than putting a Chennai train towards that side. If at all a demand for HAS/SKLR exists, MAS SBC HAS/SKLR can be used...

For MAQ if you consider this route, the travel time will be: 6(MAS-YPR+Loco Reversal)+9.5(YPR-MAQ)=15.5(MAS-MAQ) which equals the current travel time via the traditional route. If you are intending to connect UD, KAWR side also it can be done by extending West Coast to MAO/clubbing it with MAQ MAO pass thereby boosting patro.
I am not against this route for MAQ MAS but considering multiple restrictions in the SBHR-SKLR route and the consequential limitation of trains worries me to not further restrict MAQ's fair share of trains.
