Production of LHB coaches have picked up and from next FY all the coaches manufactures shall be of LHB design. LHB coaches are slated to proliferate on IR network and make rly journey safer. By 31.3.17 Number of LHB coaches were just 3270 out of total strength of about 63000 coaches. By 31.3.19 the number is likely to be about 8800.
* LHB coaches are safer than ICF coaches in event of accident and have anti-climbing features.
* But every part of a LHB coach is not equally safe! There are unsafe zones too!
