This train will run in opposite direction of train#12076(TVC-CLT Jandhatabdi Exp), with the same time between Calicut&Trivandrum. Also, this timing will be useful for passengers from Kannur, Calicut, Shoranur, Trichur, etc for reaching Ernakulam before morning 9.30 hrs, which is the most useful timing for official/business purpose. Also, this train will be running before/after the morning/evening CAN-ERS-ALLP-CAN Executive Express. Also, this train will serve as the fastest train between Kannur and Trivandrum. As the proposed timing will not harm the railway's daily maintenance and repair, it is easy for extending this train upto Kannur. For easy extention, Train#56600(Calicut-Shoranur Jn Passenger) can be re-arranged to reach Shoranur Jn, before 7.30AM, by leaving Calicut at 5.15AM. So, passengers from the smaller stations between Calicut&Shoranur Jn can travel by the this passenger train and get Janshatabdi Express at Shoranur Jn.
Moreover, As a new pit line will be constructed soon in Kannur station, with east side entrance, the maintenance, repair and the handling of trains will not be a problem for railway. So, the train can be run 7 days a week, instead of 5 days a week and maintenance can be done at Kannur and Trivandrum.
As it will be the fastest train, reaching at the busiest time, it will reduce the rush in other day express, like Parasuram exp, Executive exp, etc. From Trivandrm, this train will serve as the most convenient day express to Malabar.
Railway has more facilities at Kannur station than Calicut, especially for cleaning, maintenance and pit line(under construction). So, Railway will only benefit from extending this train upto Kannur.
