In support of NCR Controllers: i) CNB-ALD is still not automatic signalling. ii) Too much extraneous effects like mantri or officer/ officer spouse movement in trains, Chain pulling by hawkers at ALD/ CNB causing blocking of platforms, frequent loco failures, minor derailments, fog effect etc.
Against NCR Controllers: i) Poor traffic planning resulting in SFE trains getting stuck behind trains with more stops ii) Trains getting looped for too long in ALD-MGS section for Rajdhani overtake despite the section being under auto signalling. Auto signalling has not led to any improvement in train movement in this section, which is surprising. iii) Utter apathy for passenger trains forcing people to travel in express trains, often in reserved coaches. The recently extended ALD-MGS...

It is unjustified to compare Vasai-Vapi-Surat-BRC section with CNB-ALD-MGS section. It is like comparing Michel Schumacker with Narain Kartikeyan. Western Railways even makes Central Railways look bad, that is how good they are. Those who are saying goods trains are less in Western Railways than in NCR don't know anything about Western Railways. The originating freight of Western Railways was about 5.3 million tonnes for Feb, 2017 which is same as the combined originating freight of NCR, NER and NR. One has to watch train movement at BRC with 4 operational platforms or at ST with 3 operational platforms to see the difference with CNB or ALD.
