Some serious efforts should be done regarding the Konkan route or else all the efforts of Sridharan's team will be wasted. The P-way was constructed to be fit for 160kmph operations, and it was proven too with the Roha-Madgaon trial doing sustained 150kmph runs without any special arrangements. But, the authorities' attitude has been unfortunate after the derailments on the route. Efforts to find a solution have instead been replaced by reduced speed limits and bullying from the central authorities. 160kmph runs may not be realistic due to the terrain and weather. But it would be a sheer waste if they cannot operate it at least at 130kmph during the dry months!
