This is what happened today at #Nizamabad Railway Station Booking Counter. The #Good & the #Bad.
So as it can be seen on the ticket, 4 of my friends are traveling from Nizamabad (NZB) to Pandharpur (PVR) tomorrow (20/01/17) via NZB-PVR Pass which departs at 13:25 from NZB. So today(19/01/17) at around 11:30AM after we were finished at Passport Office in NZB, me along with a friend (one of the 4 friends) went to railway station to get 4 tickets of sleeper class.
As always there was rush at the...
more... booking counters, I filled the reservation form and finally got the tickets. We checked what berths we got and left the railway station saying good bye to the huge rush. At around 12:30PM one of the other friends checked the ticket and pointed out that we reserved the ticket for the same day and the train would leave in an hour at 01:30PM. OMG, we messed up. The 4 guys stared at me angrily thinking that I may have made a mistake on the reservation form. We ran back to the railway station and had to request the people standing in the queue to give us just 5 minutes so that we may talk with the guy sitting on the counter. We asked back for the reservation form and to my happiness there was no mistake, the date of traveling was 20/01/2017 but we got the ticket of 19/01/2017.
The person at counter was a good guy he just smiled, cancelled our ticket and gave us a ticket for tomorrow charging us 80/-.( I think these were reservation charges. And we have to surely pay this if we book ticket in advance) I won't admit that it was his mistake. It was our mistake too that we didn't check the date there on spot (but how could we), the print of the ticket was so bad that the date and other details on the ticket were mixed in other alphabets, as you can still see on the new ticket that there are some words (highlighted in black rectangle) which still cannot be read.
What I would like to say is, though we have have latest type of equipment such as ATVMs, machines for cashless transactions and printers, both the people and the governance doesn't care if they work properly. The wrongly printed ticket could have made my friends thrown out of the train tomorrow.
