Paradip Port receives Best Performance Award from Shipping Minister:
PANAJI: During the recent review on Major Ports’ performance for the financial year 2015-16 in Goa, Mr Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, appreciated Paradip Port Trust’s (PPT) performance and presented an award to the port management for achieving best improvement in Efficiency Parameters for the year 2015-16.
Mr N. Vaiyapuri, Deputy Chairman, PPT, received the award on behalf of PPT from the Minister during the review meeting held at Panaji, Goa on June 04.

more... Port Trust has achieved outstanding efficiency parameters among the Major Ports.
Port efficiency parameters are important criteria to assess efficient functioning of the Port. Vessel turn round time has been drastically reduced by 36% from 7.01 days in 2014-15 to 4.50 days during 2015-16. Similarly, Berth Day output has also increased by 19% from 17,736 metric tonnes to 21,139 metric tonnes.
The Mechanised Coal Berths being used for loading the Thermal Coal for Power Plants located in Southern states have also recorded throughput increase by 23% from 32,880 metric tonnes to 40,440 metric tonnes.
